Meet the Staff

Jodi Mountjoy

Having completed postgraduate training in Pretoria South Africa with specialisation in applied physiology, biomechanics, concepts and applications of motor learning, Jodi has actively been involved with the rehabilitation of people having suffered paralysis since 1996 after joining the National Rehabilitation Centre for the Paralysed in the UK. Over the last nine years she has been instrumental in developing this unique form of rehabilitation. She has travelled to rehabilitation Centers across Europe and South Africa.

 Her field of interest lies in gait re-education, partial weight bearing gait therapy and muscle re-education. Jodi also has an interest in the development of assessment procedures for clients. For the completion of her Masters degree through the University of Bristol, the subject of her dissertation was ‘Measuring Balance in the Neurologically Impaired: Development of an instrument, reliability and performance testing.’

 Jodi is a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Neurology (ACPIN), she is an accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist through the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), and is also a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals. Jodi is also an external lecturer at INUAF (Instituto Superior Dom Afonso III), where she teaches the theoretical and practical applications of exercise therapy.
