Jodi Mountjoy

Having completed postgraduate training in Pretoria South Africa with specialisation in applied physiology, biomechanics, concepts and applications of motor learning, Jodi has actively been involved with the rehabilitation of people having suffered paralysis since 1996 after joining the National Rehabilitation Centre for the Paralysed in the UK. Since then, she has been instrumental in developing this unique form of rehabilitation. She has travelled to rehabilitation Centers across Europe and South Africa.

 

Her field of interest lies in gait re-education, partial weight bearing gait therapy and muscle re-education. Jodi also has an interest in the development of assessment procedures for clients. For the completion of her Masters degree through the University of Bristol, the subject of her dissertation was ‘Measuring Balance in the Neurologically Impaired: Development of an instrument, reliability and performance testing.’

 

 

 

Location

 

TheraMAX is located in Alte, a picturesque Portuguese village which has spectacular views of the hills and valleys of the Algarve.

 

Alte is some thirty minutes away from the main tourist resorts. As Alte is based on the slope of a mountain, access can be a little tricky in some places, there are however a number of accessible cafes, bars, restaurants, a really nice hotel and other self catering accommodation in the area. 

 

The combination of intensive therapy, beautiful surroundings, and a great climate is ideal for the realisation of your true rehabilitation potential.
